Kit Kat (disambiguation)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kit Kat or Kit Cat was a nickname for Christopher Catling, owner of the pie-house where the Kit-Cat Club met. A number of items are named (directly or indirectly) after him:

  • The Kit Kat bar chocolate confectionery
  • The Kit-Cat Club based at Kit Cat's pie-shop.
  • A Kit-cat portrait, a particular size of portrait (36×28 inches), less than half-length, but including the hands. Said to have been so called because the dining-room of the Kit-Kat Club at Barn Elms was hung with portraits of the members and was too low for half-size portraits.
  • Kit Cat pie, a type of mutton pie, originating from Kit Cat's pie-shop[1].
  • The Kit Kat Club is also the name of the fictional club in 1930s Weimar Germany featured in the stage show and film 'Cabaret'.
