Kista Science Tower
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kista Science Tower in Kista is the tallest skyscraper in Stockholm, Sweden at a height of 128 m (156 m counting the antenna on the roof). It was originally planned to be taller, but due to the recession in the beginning of the century it was decided to not build the top floors. This is the reason for the black cube on top of the roof, which is the elevator shaft. In the original plan, the roof was flat. The tower has 30 floors in total, none of which are below ground.
Kista Science Tower was completed in 2003 and was then the tallest skyscraper in Scandinavia, but was surpassed by Turning Torso, built in Malmö in 2004. It is still the tallest office building in Scandinavia.
The building is home to the tallest elevators in Sweden. They reach speeds of 5-6 m/s.
