Kissed
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kissed is a Canadian drama film, released in 1996. The film was directed by Lynne Stopkewich, and written by Stopkewich and Angus Fraser, based on Barbara Gowdy's short story "We So Seldom Look On Love".
The film stars Molly Parker as Sandra Larson, a young woman whose romanticization of death leads her to study embalming at a mortuary school, where in turn she finds herself drawn toward feelings of necrophilia. Peter Outerbridge also stars as Matt, a fellow student who develops romantic feelings toward Sandra.
Although the film has been controversial, it has also been hailed by many film critics for its sensitive and tasteful portrayal of the subject matter.
