KISS Alive! 1975-2000 is a collection of live recordings from the American hard rock band KISS. It is due to be released by Universal Music on November 21, 2006.
As a way of increasing sales Best Buy had a promotion that would offer the KISS Alive! boxset along with 2 bonus tracks "2000 Man" & "God Of Thunder" for free all for 19.99. When buyers opened the package no additional disc or added tracks where in the package. Emails Roared in to KISSonline and the website along with band members gene and paul had this to say
"KISSONLINE.com
KISS Fans are the greatest! Not 15 minutes after the KISS ALIVE!!! 1975-2000 CD Set went on sale this morning, we started receiving fan emails informing us that the Best Buy store version did not contain the advertised bonus tracks "2000 Man" and "God of Thunder." Thank you for bringing this to our attention so quickly.
Though not directly involved with Universal's Best Buy store promotion, Paul and Gene were made aware of the bonus track problem and have chosen to help rectify the situation for the fans. Several solutions are currently being discussed by Universal Music and we expect to post more information in the next day or two.
Bottom line - Paul and Gene appreciate your support and any fan who bought the CD at Best Buy expecting these two tracks will receive them"
'The Millenium Concert' was supposed to be released as Alive IV in 2000 but because of the shake up of KISS' parent label Mercury being swallowed by the Universal/Vivendi merger, Alive IV was shelved. Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley in 2001 on the US rock radio show Rockline expressed their frustration on its delay by attacking Island/Def Jam who swallowed Mercury and KISS was put on Def Jam with Staney saying "we don't look good in baggy pants to butt level" and Simmons saying "we don't have criminal records so far and wear more makeup and clothes than your mom". Then Universal OK'd with KISS for using Mercury to release The Millenium Concert as Alive IV but then shelved it for the 2003 KISS Symphony: Alive IV album released on KISS Records/Sanctuary Records.
