Formerly known as "The Edge" KDGE in the mid-'90s, playing Alternative, Grunge and Heavy Metal music. Most listeners of "The Edge" were patrons of Cafe Copioh, near UNLV, and were in ages from 12 to 30, accepting all teen and youth listeners in the suburbs of Las Vegas, mainly White and Asian in origin. The success of "The Edge" format was because of "Power 97" going off the air, and KLUC being mainly hip-hop and rap that gave it a ratings boost. After the "Grunge Era" ended with the Spice Girls in 1997, "The Edge" switched formats, coming a Spanish station after selling to new owners.
