Kirstie Marshall is a notable Australian aerial skier and politician.

Marshall was an ex-gymnast who became an aerial skier. She won 17 world cup gold medals. She competed in aerial skiing as a demonstration sport at the 1992 Winter Olympics, and as a medal event in 1994 and 1998, where she came sixth and fourteenth respectively.

As of December 2002 Ms Marshall is aged 33 years and is due to give birth to her first child, in Feb 2003 her occupation is an Australian Labour Party backbencher of the Victorian Legislative Assembly, it is reported Ms Marshall expects to continue her duties until 3 weeks before the due date of birth

On the 26 Feb 2003 she was ejected from the chamber for breastfeeding her newborn 12-day-old Charlotte Louise who in Parliamentary rules cannot be permitted, because there is no age limit to ‘strangers in the House’ (non-elected persons); only MPs and certain parliamentary staff are allowed in the House during sitting times. [1]

Instead the Speaker of the House has set aside a room in which female MP’s can feed their child in comfort and without violating any rules. Under Standing Order 30: This rule states: "Unless by order of the House, no Member of this House shall presume to bring any stranger into any part of the House appropriated to the Members of this House while the House, or a Committee of the whole House, is sitting."
