Kirsten Sanford

Dr. Kirsten Sanford is research scientist in neurophysiology at the University of California, Davis and is a specialist in learning and memory. She holds a B.S. in Conservation Biology and a Ph.D in Molecular, Cellular and Integrative Physiology from UC Davis. Kirsten is also the founder and host of the popular This Week in Science radio show/podcast, a weekly program broadcast from University of California, Davis and avidly followed by tens of thousands of fans worldwide.

Sanford was awarded the 2005 American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Mass Media Fellowship Award in recognition for her work with her radio show This Week in Science. Through this fellowship she worked as a television news producer at WNBC News in New York City working with noted health and science reporter Dr. Max Gomez.
