Kirsten "Kiki" Cohen (née Nichol) is a fictional character on the FOX television series The O.C., played by Kelly Rowan.
Kirsten is the eldest daughter of real estate developer Caleb Nichol and older sister of Hailey Nichol, and married husband Sandy Cohen sometime during her rebellious twenties (she states that when they fell in love she "lived in a mail truck and stank of patchouli"). Since marrying Sandy and giving birth to their son Seth, Kirsten joined her father at the Newport Group, becoming somewhat of a workaholic. In contrast to her husband, Kirsten Cohen is conservative.
During the first season, Kirsten had to deal with suddenly having another child, Ryan Atwood. She was best friends with Jimmy Cooper in high school, and they used to date. In the first season finale, she hinted to Theresa Diaz that she had an abortion early in her life, which could have possibly been Jimmy's baby. The problems began for her during the second season when she feared that her husband was cheating on her with an old girlfriend, Rebecca Bloom. Sandy and Kirsten's marriage began to deteriorate, and she turned to alcohol to compensate. Her alcoholism was fueled by working closely with a man whom she had a crush on (Newport Living magazine editor Carter Buckley), who also drank too much. Toward the end of the second season, she crashed her car while driving drunk and caused a scene at her father's funeral. Following an intervention, she was checked into a rehabilitation program.
There, she met Charlotte Morgan, a con artist who claimed to be interested in her, but in reality was only after her for money. She has since returned home to Newport and is now in the process of creating a high-class dating service with Julie Cooper.
In the fourth season, she had to deal with the beginning of NewMatch as a legitimate business. After setting up a new and attractive office, she then attempted to garner a silent partner in Gordon Bullit by setting him up with Julie. After recieving an entire clientele from a retiring dating service in Laguna Beach, she then had to deal with a slew of socialites bored with the republican golf loving investment bankers on offer. As of yet it is unclear whether or not she knows of the extra-legal activities of NewMatch. She has to deal with a family crisis later in the season when Frank Perry, an accountant brought in by Bullit to deal with NewMatches books, reveals his secret past. It is then revealed that she has a medical condition, where she is dizzy, naseous and vomiting.
