Kirk Presley was the 1993 first round draft pick of the New York Mets. Selected at # 8 in the 1993 draft, Presley had terrorized opposing batters during his campaign as a dominant pitcher and third baseman for Tupelo High School.
A quarterback at Mississippi State, he was considered a tough sign but the Mets got him for $900,000. Arm injuries ended his career before he made it to the major leagues.
