Hi please add a small amount of further info about your films e.g year , director, actors etcErnst Stavro Blofeld 10:09, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
See Aasai
Hi getting better but it really does need a date. Even a decade. Also indian film stubs go under india-film-stub not just film-stub. Good luck my Transylvanian friend Ernst Stavro Blofeld 10:55, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
Hi vampire man again. I also notcied that you will need to add the Category:Indian films to all your articles. They belong in this and in the Tamil category as you so rightly knew. This ties it in with wikiproject indian cinema Ernst Stavro Blofeld 11:18, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Filmography
Hello, KingDracula, about the filmography:
- None of the actor and actress pags that achieved featured status on Wikipedia has co-stars and directors in their filmography (see Katie Holmes or Lindsay Lohan). Since not every article is as comprehensive or "excellent" as featured articles, generally those whould serve as role models.
- An article is there to tell something about the subject. The subject of Surya's article is Surya. Information about co-stars and directors is information on movies (and it crowds the filmography) and therefore belongs into the movie articles.
- In the past, people have used co-stars and directors to show off "their" actor: Actor XYZ has played alongside actress XXX more times than actor ABC so therefore actor XYZ must be "better" than actor ABC - to prevent edit wars, generally those kind of ino goes right into the movie article.
- You are not alone. If you start to work on articles in the Indian Cinema project, why don't you have a look how the majority of the articles look like (e.g. the larger ones like Shahrukh Khan or Aishwarya Rai).
- User:Kadavul got banned for the same thing you are currently trying to do - it was considered vandalism and he got banned by an administrator. See here: [1] If you don't want that to happen to you, I suggest you stop.
Oh, and the pictures you upoloaded are both lacking a source: [[2]] and [[3]]
Best regards, --Plumcouch Talk2Me 11:42, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Surya
Hello, Dracula.
Aside from my concerns about the filmography (see above), here are the others:
-
- Saravanan Sivakumar popularly know as Surya (born in 23 July 1975), is an Indian actor in the Tamil film industry. He is known as Surya popularly and has rose to fame with this name. He is the son of Tamil actor Sivakumar. He is well-known for trying out off-beat roles in different films. Suriya is also the brand ambassador for large brands like Pepsi, TVS and Sunfeast Biscuits.
Surya mentioned twice, therefore should the second mention be cropped. Needless to say he rose to fame with this name, as he is "popularly known as Surya" --> cropped. Info about his family comes later -> double mention. Brand ambassdor mention, yes, (in his career), brands themselves: no, as WP does not advertise brands.
Do you wish to discuss the rest of the article as well, to prevent an edit war?
Best regards, --Plumcouch Talk2Me 11:52, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
Come on mate I really don't want to think I have wasted my time in trying to help you what are you doing? you can't just say the film was a flop what is that? If you must create a sub-stub at least set it out properly e.g Aartwara' is an Indian Tamil language film released in 2006. Otherwise admin will delete all your other articles will Ernst Stavro Blofeld 11:48, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
See Kovai Brothers this is the minimum of what the sub stub should be. Also use Category:Indian films as i keep telling you. You seemed like a good bloke, don't let me or wikipedia down mate. Ernst Stavro Blofeld 11:54, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Short articles
Please stop creating short articles with no context until you can write more about them. -- Casmith 789 11:48, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
I've just deleted several of your new articles on films for containing very little or no content at all. Please stop creating articles of this type and focus on creating quality stubs. -- Longhair 12:12, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
- Your message to my talk page is to say the least, very strange. Please keep your personal attacks to yourself. See No Personal attacks. Very short articles with no context will be deleted, whether it's done by myself or one of the many other administrators capable of doing so. -- Longhair 12:20, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

- The article has been deleted because of the copyright violations. If you would like to write a description of this movie in your own words, this is acceptable. Even better would be making the article look something like Bombay (film), having information about not just the plot, but also the actors, trivia, etc. Thanks! --- Deville (Talk) 12:41, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your edits
Hello. Several users have asked you not to post extremely short articles nor copyrighted material. Apparently, you've responded rather negatively. To better understand how to contribute, I'd like to recommend that you read the Wikipedia:Manual of style and see the section on no personal attacks. Thanks. Hope this helps. - Lucky 6.9 16:47, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Copyvio
Please do not replace existing freely-licensed images with copyrighted images, particularly when the use of the image is in blatant violation of copyright. You did this to Trisha Krishnan. Free or freely-licensed images are preferred over copyrighted images; in fact, we cannot use a copyrighted image when a free image is available. Thanks. --Yamla 22:29, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Normal Asin10.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Normal Asin10.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 22:34, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Suryajo.jpg)
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Suryajo.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. [edit] Image tagging for Image:Normal_849.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Normal_849.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Thala.jpg
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Thala.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. [edit] Happy Diwali
Hello, Dracula, happy Diwali to you to and thank you for the barnstar. :) About the edits I made to Ajith Kumar's filmography: Generally I use the articles of actors that got featured status here at Wiki as a role model and none of those have co-stars and the sorts on their filmography and Aishwarya Rai or Maddy are not featured. Anyway, I asked some other editors for their opinion at WP:3O (that's the place to help if two editors, like us, can't come up with a decision about what's better for an article) on this matter and the discussion can be found at Talk:Ajith_Kumar. An editor called User:ONUnicorn gave his oppinion on the matter. Maybe you'd like to talk to him, too? Best regards and again, a happy Diwali, --Plumcouch Talk2Me 20:37, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
