Talk:King Uszniewicz
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is contentious. The link between Brownsville Station's Cub Koda and King U has been often made but never proven - besides - keeping a joke like this alive for three whole albums-worth of material?
Musically, King U and the U-tones were dreadful - therein lies the appeal. Sax solos all in the same key (indeed all sounding like a kazoo), the band unable to keep tempo ('the timeless King Uszniewicz'), the vocalist unable to remember the lyrics:
"She looked good/looked good To my door/my door Looked good/to my door Wedding bells are going to chime"
The goofs are never repeated, this does not sound pre-meditated.
This was an eleven piece band of very drunk guys, who played with verve, energy, enthusiasm and courage given their utter lack of talent. A lesson that such a small detail should never hold you back from realising your dream...
