[edit] Electoral fortunes

Formally a safe Labour seat, in 2005 the Liberal Democrats narrowed the Labour majority in Hull North significantly. The seat could be the site of a genuine Liberal Democrat/Labour contest at the next election, with the Conservatives in a poor third place.
