Kings Langley, New South Wales

Kings Langley is a suburb in the City of Blacktown, in Western Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia.

The intersection of Joseph Banks Drive and Seven Hills North. This was the previous main entrance to Kings Langley from the Sydney CBD before completion of the M7 Motorway and is the main entry/exit point to the Eastern sector of the suburb.

Early settler Matthew Pearce (1762-1831) called his 130-acre (53 ha) grant after King’s Langley Manor House in Hertfordshire, England, where he was born. Pearce’s grant was situated on the opposite side of the Windsor Road to the present day suburb of Kings Langley, which was officially named a ‘neighbourhood’ in 1976.

Kings Langley is a middle income suburb. Last census the unemployment rate in Kings Langley was 1.8% [1]. Median house price is around $440,000.

Kings Langley is well serviced by public transport. Hillsbus Routes 714, 715, 717 and 718 all service the suburb and connect it with the larger suburbs of Blacktown, Castle Hill, Seven Hills and Parramatta. The City of Sydney is approximately 38km away and the journey in off-peak times can be done in 30 minutes via the M2. Access to Western Sydney was improved by the opening of the Westlink M7 in December 2005.

Kings Langley is serviced by several schools. Two primary schools are located in the suburb, these are Vardy's Road Primary School and Kings Langley Public School. There is no high school in Kings Langley, but Kings Langley is in the catchment area of Blacktown Boys High, Blacktown Girls High and Seven Hills High schools. As these schools are of poor academic standard and located in low socio-economic areas a lot of parents also send their children to government high schools located in the Hills District including Crestwood High and Model Farms High School.
