Drosera regia Stephens 1926 |
The King Sundew (Drosera regia) is a carnivorous plant in the sundew genus Drosera that originates from South Africa. The specific epithet regia comes from the Latin for 'royal', a reference to the large size of the plant, whose leaves can exceed 50 cm in length. Drosera regia is known among carnivorous plant growers as being rather difficult to grow, although the recently introduced cultivar D. regia 'Big Easy' is reputed to be more robust.
