King Randor is a fictional character who appeared in the popular 1980s toy line and cartoon series Masters of the Universe (MOTU).
He is the good and noble King of Eternia, and the father of the series hero He-Man, or rather his alter ego, Prince Adam, as well as He-Man's/Adam's sister Princess Adora, aka She-Ra. Unlike his children, who are both blondes, he has brown hair and a beard. In fact, given that his wife Queen Marlena's hair is a reddish-brown, the twins' blonde hair must have been the result of a recessive gene. It is heavily implied but never officially confirmed that his long-lost brother Keldor became the series villain known as Skeletor. However, the writer of the minicomic in question has since confirmed that this was the intent. See the main article on Skeletor.
He appears regularly in the original series but is usually not involved in the action. In the 2002 Mike Young Productions remake series it is made apparent that in his youth he was a brave and steadfast warrior before being appointed King of Eternia by the Elders. He even aided the Masters in a couple of episodes in their battles against Skeletor and his Evil Warriors and even the Snake Men. After the Council of Evil incident, King Randor established an Eternian Council consisting of himself, Chief Carnivus of the Qadians, Lord Dactys of the Speleans, the Kulatak Elder of the Kulataks, Queen Andreeno of the Andreenids, King Taurius of the Mintaurans, Hawk (representing the Avionians), and some other unnamed council members.
