King Giddra

King Giddra is one of the musical groups that introduced rap music to Japan. They imitate the fashion of American rappers and wear baggy clothes, gold necklaces and sun glasses (in theyre later days). They have written a lot of popular songs including Generation Next. Their songs have been included on movie soundtracks and they have hosted programs on MTV Japan. Their efforts to promote rap music in Japan have led them to hold many tours throughout the country. They are known to have a possitive outlook.
In 2002, the singles Drive-by and F.F.B. were recalled amid protests that they included discriminatory language concerning homosexuals and individuals infected with HIV. F.F.B. was later re-released with the offending lyrics omitted on the album Saishu Heiki.
The leader of King Giddra is named Zeebra. He is said to be the first rapper in Japan. He has made many songs on his own and has produced two full length albums. The other is K-Dub Shine who also is a veteran rapper in japan who has released many albums.
The group occasionaly releases King Giddra albums while also focusing on solo careers.
They are presumably named after the daikaiju movie monster King Ghidorah.
