1.Kinelea / (from the Irish Cinéal (n)Aedha na hEchtghe) was the name used to describe the territory of the O Shaughnessy/Ó Seachnasaigh clan in the south of Ui Fiachrach Aidhne, located in what is now south Co. Galway, the south of Connacht on the west coast of Ireland. Cinéal (n)Aedha na hEchtghe, which means "clan of Aedh of the Slieve Aughty Mountains"; were a branch of the Ui Fiachrach Aidhne, and were the dynasty from whom sprang the families of O'Cahill and O'Shaughnessy, the successive kings or chiefs of Kinelea.

2.Kinelea (Cinéal (n)Aedha) is also the name of a territory and later a barony in Co. Cork, [Ireland].
