[edit] Summary

A scan, made by me, from a poor photo taken (also by me) in the mid-1970's, of a Jack in the Green which I made for a May Day celebrations in Kingston and Surbiton, Surrey, England. The frame was made of woven holly branches covered in ivy leaves, the crown of basketmaking wicker covered in cherry blossom. This was a conjectural reconstruction of a traditional Jack, based on a photograph of May Day Festivities at Oxford by Sir Benjamin Stone c.1900.

This scan is in the Public Domain (however, I retain ownership and copyright of the original negative and print and any higher-resolution scans derived from them).

If this image is used outside Wikipedia an artist/photographer's credit (Simon Garbutt) would be much appreciated! SiGarb 13:39, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
