The genus Pezoporus contains two Australian species: the Night Parrot (Pezoporus occidentalis) and the Ground Parrot (Pezoporus wallicus). It is the only genus in the tribe Pezoporini. The closest relative is the Budgerigar (Melopsittacus undulatus) [1][2].
