Kimberley Joseph

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Kimberley Joseph is an Canadian-Australian actress and former glamour model born 30 August 1973 in Vancouver, British Columbia. With her parents, she moved to Australia at the age of three.

She first appeared on the Australian soap Paradise Beach as the sweet natured (turned psychopath in the last episode) Cassie Barsby and briefly played Joanne Brennan on Home and Away in 1996. She also hosted the Australian version of Gladiators with Mike Hammond. Joseph later gained greater exposure to UK audiences in the last series of the comedy drama Cold Feet when her character Jo Ellison was brought in as a new love interest to John Thomson's character Pete, whose on-screen wife left the country when popular actress Fay Ripley left the show.

In 2005, Joseph appeared in the hit US drama television show Lost as Cindy Chandler, an air hostess on the doomed airliner. She was actually originally supposed to die in the pilot episode, but series creator JJ Abrams liked her so much they didn't film her planned death (which was intended to lead to one of the main characters' flashbacks) and asked her to return for later episodes.

In the first season, Joseph mainly appeared in a minor role in other character's flashbacks. However, in the second season she was revealed to be one of the "tailies", a group of survivors from the tail section of the airliner that broke off in flight. While her character ended up disappearing during the episode "Abandoned", she has apparently been cast to appear in the third season of the show, most likely in a guest/recurring role [1].
