Kim Mathers

Kim Mathers (born Kimberley Anne Scott on January 9, 1975 in Warren, Michigan) is the ex-wife of Marshall Bruce Mathers III, a.k.a. Eminem (married June 14, 1999, divorced August 7, 2000; remarried January 14, 2006, divorced on April 5, 2006).

[edit] Biography

She and Marshall Mathers reportedly began their on and off relationship in 1989. [citation needed]

In 2000, as Eminem gained widespread fame and publicity following the release of his sophomore major-label album, The Marshall Mathers LP, her troubled relationship with him was often a news topic. Kim, a track on the CD, has Eminem shouting verbal abuse at her (Kim's real voice is also played by him on the track) for getting into a relationship with someone else; it ends with the sound of her throat being cut while Eminem shouts, "Bleed, bitch, bleed! Bleeeeed!!!"

The track was framed by Eminem as a prequel to the comparatively less intense track 97' Bonnie & Clyde, a parody of Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton's Just the Two of Us on Eminem's The Slim Shady LP, in which he disposes of the body of his wife while his daughter Hailie rides in the car. On July 7, 2000, Kim attempted suicide by cutting her wrists.

Kim also saw him perform this show live in Detroit, with a mock-up doll of her being abused by Mathers on stage to audience approval. This was a recurring part of Mathers's performance in the Up in Smoke tour. Following this concert, she made a failed attempt at suicide by slitting her wrists.

Eminem filed for divorce in August. Two months later the couple reconciled for the sake of their daughter. The relationship still didn't last, with Kim filing for divorce in March of 2001. They went through an ugly custody battle over Hailie. The divorce was final in October of 2001. After almost three years of rumors of the two of them together it was confirmed on December 7, 2005, Eminem announced on Metro Detroit's Mojo in the Morning radio program that the couple had reconciled and would probably re-marry in 2006. The couple remarried on January 14, 2006 in Rochester Hills, Michigan, however, on April 5, it was reported that they were divorcing for a second (and presumably last) time.

[edit] Children

Hailie Jade Scott's name was later changed to Hailie Jade Mathers after her parent's first divorce when her father gained full custody of her, is the daughter of Marshall and Kim Mathers. She was born on December 25, 1995. She has also been mentioned in countless numbers of Eminem's songs.

Alaina Marie Scott is Eminem's thirteen year-old niece whom he has adopted. Alaina is the daughter of his wife Kim's twin sister Dawn. Eminem has custody of his niece and is raising her alongside his daughter, Hailie. She is referenced as "Lainnie" on Mockingbird on Eminem's album, Encore.

Whitney Laine Scott, born 2002, is Kim's daughter by Eric Hartter, from the period in which the couple was divorced.
