Kim Il Sung Square is a city square in Pyongyang, North Korea, and is named after the founding leader of North Korea, Kim Il Sung. It is located on the west bank of the Taedong River, directly across from the Juche Tower. It is a common gathering place for rallies and military parades and is often featured in media concerning North Korea. Tourists are often taken here first to pay respect to a statue of Kim Il Sung. It has an area of about 75,000 square meters. The Grand People's Study House is adjacent to the square.
