[edit] Something Suprising?

In an interview with some guy with Guerrilla Entertainment (Killzone Project), He stated that "You will not be let down" "Our team has been working hard, and the game is shaping up to what the trialer was like in 2003.." You can check it out at www.ps3.ign.com and look for the Ps3 Roundtable Discussion with Jeremy Dunham some other guys. But does this mean somthing? http://media.ps3.ign.com/articles/746/746551/vids_1.html

[edit] I added something as a rumor

Because I couldn't find a link to the proof, if anyone can that would be nice, I added:

"A rumor stated that, the trailer was produced on PC with roughly the specs of the PS3. The trailer was a scripted walkthrough of a level running on the PC, not having enough time to fine tune it, they had it running at 5 Frames Per Second, which was later sped up to the 60 frames per second seen in the trailer. Another rumor stated that a developer said that they only had time to tap into about 70% of the power of the PS3, and that the finally product will look the same, or close to what was shown in the trailer"

[edit] Bias in 4th paragraph?

"Inferior game producers and console manufactures have traditionally advertised higher resolution screen shots then actually available during game play. This move by Sony and Guerrilla Games is surprising considering the previous quality of their games and consoles."

This contains a couple implications- that Killzone 3 is an inferior game (by what standard?) and that the PS3 is an inferior console (presumably to the Xbox 360). These are both opinions and speculation since neither has been released yet. Let readers draw their own conclusions based on the facts (and speculation) presented in the previous paragraphs.

"Some gamers speculate that this could very possibly be the 'last gasp for air' from a dying breed of gaming consoles."

This is hearsay. There are millions of "gamers." What authoritative source speculates this? If there is one, then it should be provided. Otherwise, the statement should be stricken. (Furthermore, what "breed of gaming consoles" is referred to here? The as-yet-unreleased PS3? the entire Playstation line?)

"The suspicious timing of this maneuver comes on the heals of the release of rival Microsoft's Xbox 360 which boasts superior graphics and processing power."

Superior graphics and processing power to what? The PS2? Killzone 3 is being developed for the PS3. By most accounts (which themselves are preliminary, since the PS3 design is not finalized yet) the PS3 will have quantitatively equal or greater graphics and processing power than the Xbox360.

Nevertheless, the characterization of the timing as "suspicious" is unfair.. the trailer was shown at the 2005 E3 convention- a place where you would expect such a trailer to be shown (regardless of its integrity), and about 2 months before the worldwide release of the Xbox360.

I agree, the 4th paragraph sounds like it was written by a Xbox 360 fan 'jealous' of the PS3... for some reason.

Is it just me or that some tends to think that anyone who doesn't like the "PS people" automatically qualifies as the "Xbox people," especially in the eyes of the "PS people." Replace the proper nouns and you'll get an equally strong argument.
Well it has to do with the fact that someone who defaces a PS3 page is more likely to be an insecure fan of the Xbox360.
You guys(the console community) should really stop bickering about how X console is better than Y or how A game is better than B game. It's just pathetic to see you guys arguing over something like video games.
I think a game with the Killzone graphics quality is possible with the PLAYSTATION 3 specs; but it definetely wouldn't be a launch title or even a first-gen one, it would be almost a final title for it.

[edit] This is not confirmed

This shouldn't be posted as fact that the next-gen game won't be 2, as it was done by only one site and never confirmed. Also, there hasn't been any word on a PS2 killzone 2, and the PS3 launch is just around the corner.

I believe GG has stated that they're working on a PSP Killzone game. --HQ 14:44, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] "Recent developments"

I removed the following passage:

This was before more recent developments proving the footage was infact CG.

There was no support to this claim, any links of reference, or any description whatsoever of the "recent developments" in subject, so I took it out. ShadowMan1od 03:08, 27 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Moved article to Killzone PS3

Calling it Killzone 3 is a little dubious, so I moved it to Killzone PS3 as a working title. Lengis 18:55, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

I think it would be better if it were like this: Killzone (PS3). --Tuspm(C | @) 20:14, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Cleanup

This page is in a very poor state. I removed a MASSIVE paragraph (good lord, it took up an entire page by itself) of "rumoured features", on the basis that it could be massively compressed. Furthermore, nearly none of the rumours were apparently made anywhere but here, making them dubious and unworthy of a mention.

The article still needs a good deal of expansion, which I expect we'll see as we come closer to the release date. In the meantime, I've listed this article for cleanup: its organisation still leaves something to be desired, and I'm aware that my changes are by no means ideal.

[edit] I don't get this...

SCEA's Vice President, Jack Tretton, was quoted as saying that the Killzone footage displayed during E3 2005, "is definitely real" and "is real gameplay." But as it turned out, Jack Tretton was actually referring to a previously talked about game, instead of Killzone, called Resistance: Fall of Man (formerly called I-8). However, Jan-Bart Van Beek hinted at the trailer being pre-rendered.[1]

It says that he (Jack Tretton) is talking about Resistance, but clearly they moved on from Resistance and he was talking about Killzone? McDonaldsGuy 20:15, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Templar in the trailer?

How do we know if that guy's Templar or not? If someone can cite his existence in the trailer, you're more than welcome to leave him in, but I'm removing it. There's also no mention of him in the trailer itself. --DethFromAbove 01:45, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] YouTube

This article is one of thousands on Wikipedia that have a link to YouTube in it. Based on the External links policy, most of these should probably be removed. I'm putting this message here, on this talk page, to request the regular editors take a look at the link and make sure it doesn't violate policy. In short: 1. 99% of the time YouTube should not be used as a source. 2. We must not link to material that violates someones copyright. If you are not sure if the link on this article should be removed, feel free to ask me on my talk page and I'll review it personally. Thanks. ---J.S (t|c) 17:57, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
