Killylea

Killylea (IPA: /kɪli'le/) is a small village in County Armagh, Northern Ireland, to the west of Armagh. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 219 people. It is situated within the Armagh City and District Council area.
It is tranquil place, despite being so close to Armagh, due a bypass keeping all but local traffic away. The village is set on a hill, with St. Mark’s Church of Ireland, built in 1832, at its summit.

Many people have difficulty spelling Killylea, often confusing it with the County Down village, Killyleagh. An easy way to remember is Kathryn Is Lovely Like Yellow Leaves Every Autumn.

Famous residents include ex Lord Mayor of Killylea, Harry Crozier and his brother, the locally famous interior designer, Jimmy Crozier.
