Kill house

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A kill house is a building used for training military and counter terrorism teams (such as the Special Air Service) in the tactics of urban combat.

"Kill Houses" can be constructed out of a variety of materials. The specific design and construction of a kill house is what determines is use and function for the users. Some Kill Houses may be used only with "simulated" ammunition, while others are strong enough to allow the safe use of live ammunition from handguns and rifles.

The Valhalla Training Center, located in Colorado, USA, features a state of the art 16,000 sqft kill house, which, according to a recent report by the Rand Corporation for the United States Department of Defense, incorporates "advanced sound and light effects that closely replicate the sensation of being involved in a close-quarters engagement in various surroundings."
