Two different types of kilt pins. On the left is a type commonly worn with girls' kilt-skirts. Note the difference in the thicknesses of the shanks of the two pins. Also note the damage to the kilt from using the thicker shanked type of kilt pin. Photo is copyright © 2005 by James F.l Perry.
