[edit] Fannish?

I love Ms. Sheard and her music, but this page needs some work done on it. Kudos to the person(s) who felt the need to expand the article, but it sounds more like a fan page than an encyclopedia entry...for example:

This Is Me was met with mixed emotions, many said that the music overpowered Kiki's vocals and only the end of No, Never displayed her dynamite church vocals.

Perhaps there could have even been an injury in Sheard's lower body... the reason is unknown.

However, since Kiki is a freshman at Wayne State University, her touring has been rather limited lately.

Someone may disagree, but these sentences and more sound more like opinion than fact. What do you think?

Hi, I hope I responded correctly...this is my first time in the talk page.

I am the one who expanded Kiki's page and I wholeheartedly agree with you. The problem is that there was this one Kiki fan who kept adding stuff like "kiki may be overwieght but she isnt concerned about it because God gave her a great voice" or "we all love Kiki and keep her in our prayers", to name a few. When I took it out, they would undo it and so I resorted to writing it in a neutral point of view. The whole thing about Kiki being overwieght just needs to be rewritten. Is there a way to block a certain user from editing a certain page? Also, I removed that first paragraph (that is, Kierra's vocal level) as it was too subjective. The person who edits it to make it fannish is not registered...perhaps we should reqire login to edit this page? BTW, can anyone upload alblum covers? I did but they got deleted even though I sourced them. Jgcarter 21:18, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

That's exactly the point I was trying to make! I saw those comments, too, that's why the neutrality tag was added.

Yes, anyone can upload album covers, just make sure it is properly tagged, or else it will be deleted. P.S. if you need any help, just holla! Thanks, JG! Keekee 22:28, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Quality Rating

I applied for a quaulity rating review for this entry...hopefully it does well! JGCarter 23:28, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Complete Overhaul

I hope whoever said this page needed a complete overhaul was serious, 'cause I've been working overtime on this, as well as The Clark Sisters' pages. To get them looking more encyclopedic, with references, correct spelling, and a better hierarchy. Some of the writing was a just a little bit horrible before, but I'd like to think it's better now. I'm about to move the album details to their own pages to tidy up this one some. Hope nobody has a problem with it! God bless... Souldier77 01:12, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

I love it! Jgcarter 21:00, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
I was one of the people that said it needed work, and I applaud you Souldier!! It looks way better. Keekee 05:16, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] A Nice Little Touch

Kudos to Souldier77! I just cant get over how nice this page is! Perhaps we should add some more photos of Kiki. I also thought it would be nice if we added a discogrophy chart just like Kiki's mom, Karen Clark-Sheard. I dont know how to make those charts so I was wondering if someone else would. I will add more pictures in appropriate places. Again, I LOVE the new page!!!! Jgcarter

[edit] One More Thing...

Perhaps we should lock this article to unregistered users. Granted, this page has only been edited with nonsense about 4 times but I have a feeling it may rise (see history page). Perhaps we should require login to edit so we know who is doing this. I would hate for them to mess up this nice new page even though we could just revert it...any thoughts? Jgcarter 03:03, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

If it's still a problem that may be the best course of action. By the way, how do you revert crazy edits? I've never known. Don't you have to be an administrator or something? Souldier77 04:42, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
Click on the History tab, then click on an edit and click revert to selection. Its pretty self explanatory once you get in. Jgcarter 15:05, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] So What Can We Do?

This article was rated a "B" class, what can we do to raise this rating? Jgcarter 14:14, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

I think we definitely need more citations for her article. You know, citations for other articles, interviews, books, interviews and stuff that back up the stuff we just know. That way the article seems more factual and people don't just have to take our word for it. (I'm sayin' this like we're the only people who ever do anything to this page!) But yo... if it helps, check out Wikipedia:Citation templates and Wikipedia:Citing sources. That helped me out a lot. Bless you! — Souldier77 21:47, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
Thanks! I will look into this later this week. Perhaps I can dig up some more information on her childhood...Jgcarter 13:44, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
Fantastic! I was the one that created this page, and someone came right behind me and messed it up, as well as all of the Clark Sisters pages. It was one of their fans...but it's great to see fans who know a little bit about writing encyclopedic articles! Keekee 05:18, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
