[edit] Headache

What's all this business about apes and monkeys? It's really confusing, brain achingly so, and it's unnescessary. Surely there's no point going on about which Kongs are monkeys and which are apes, since they aren't clearly defined. Diddy has a tail, so he must be a monkey (apes never have tails), yet he is referred to as a 'chimp' in Donkey Kong 64. Dixie, as his girlfriend, would be expected to be of the same species, but she doesn't have a tail. Donkey, similarly, is commonly percieved to be Diddy's uncle, and he doesn't have a tail either, and is referred to as a 'gorilla' in the games. All the Kongs are referred to as 'monkeys' by K. Lumsy. Rare clearly did not create these characters with the intent of anatomical correctness, so I see little reason to debate over species. They're all anthropomorphic anyway. 20.33 April 11 2006 (UTC)

Hey, in Japan (where KONG means monkey), was were the first Donkey Kong Arcade game was made. Donkey Kong's name in Japanese means "Stupid monkey", but Rare must have enjoyed "Kong", and gave his family the name. Also, remember that this is a fictional world, so don't go overactive about their descriptions meaning that they don't relate. Thank you. Starmenclock 21:11, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
