Kid Sampson
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kid Sampson is a character in Joseph Heller's classic novel Catch-22.
An underaged soldier in the Army Air Corps, Sampson is accidentally cut in half by the propeller of McWatt's airplane, when he flys too low over the raft that Sampson is on. This immediately drives McWatt to commit suicide, and also leads to the bureaucratic death of Doc Daneeka.
