Kid Gloves
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
To treat someone with Kid Gloves means to tread carefully, perhaps too carefully, around them, for fear of reprisal. This expression was first used in the 1830's.
The expression is rooted in 1800's fashion. "Kid Gloves" were made from the skin of a lamb or goat. These gloves were softer and finer than standard gloves, and thus became symbolic of elegance and gentility in the early nineteenth century.
The expression may also refer to the following:
- A song from the Rush album Grace Under Pressure.
- Kid Gloves, a 1990 computer game. [1]
