Kid Carpet
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kid Carpet, real name Ed Patrick, makes, in his own words, 'Kiddy Disco Punk' and 'Shit Hop', in his home studio using various equipment including samplers, casio keyboards, and various sellotape bound second hand toys such as plastic Fisher-Price guitars, and tamagotchi innards. Kid Carpet made his live debut at the 21st birthday party of Bristol's Watershed media center in May 2003 and has since toured with many acts including Badly Drawn Boy, Mylo, The Go! Team, Arcade Fire and The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players. He is signed to the independent label Tired & Lonesome, who released his debut album, Ideas and Oh Dears in 2005. After releasing his debut album, he appeared on Radio One's Battle Of The One Man Bands performing Bristol Carpet Factory, Carrier Bag and a cover of Syd Barrett's Wined and Dined. He is also playing with Post-Grunge Era legends The Presidents of the United States of America in Birmingham on May 19th.
