Khwarshed Yasht

'Kwarshed Yasht "hymn to the Sun is the 6th Yasht of the Avesta. Kwarshed (Modern Persian Khorshid) "Sun" is from Avestan hvarə-xsšaēta "radiant sun". The Avestan word for "Sun", xšaēta, is cognate to Sanskrit Surya, Greek Helios and Latin Sol (see also Jamshid for etymology).
