Khulna

Coordinates: 22°49′N 89°33′E Khulna (population 1.4 million) is the third-largest city of Bangladesh. It is located on the banks of the Rupsha and Bhoirob Rivers in the Khulna District. With a population of 1.4 million, it is the capital of Khulna Division and is a major industrial and commercial center. It has a seaport named Mongla on its outskirts - 60 km awat from the Khulna City.

The city is 333 km southwest of Bangladesh's capital Dhaka, to which it is connected by air, road, train and water transportation. The steamer fleet for this route includes the ancient ships Tern (1912), Osrich and Lepcha.

Khulna district lies south of Jessore and Narail, East of Satkhira, West of Bagerhat and North of Bay of Bengal. It is part of the largest delta of the world. Khulna is mainly a plain land. Southern part of the delta is Sundarban, the world's largest mangrove forest. The city of Khulna is on the northern part of the district. It is mainly expansion of trade centers by the rivers Rupsha and Bhairob.

The law enforcer of khulna is under jurisdiction of means Khulna Metropoliton Police(K.M.P.).Here it is also underR.A.B. force R.A.B (Rapid Action Battalion). is a new populer elite force of Bangladesh. It is both admired and disadmired. However, it is under R.A.B.-6.

The rural development is under Khulna Development Authority(K.D.A.) It makes all sort of development of Khulna.

Road

Khulna has a good transport system. It has a good link to all district. Here the roads are broad enough. Though it is a busy city, but it has no traffic jam. In Khulna there is only one bus terminal. It is named Sonadanga Bus Stand

Rail way

There is a rail junction situated at the hard point of Khulna. Northern Bangladesh is linked by railway, basically. Though it has also by road link with northern Bangladesh, it is populer transportation.

Water Transport

However, beside the rail station there is a water transport terminal(B.I.W.T.C.). Barishal division is mainly connected by water vehicle.

Air Port

There is no air port in Khulna. Khulna is connected by Jessore airport which is about 70 km far away from Khulna city.

Sundarban is the largest mangrove in the very world. It is in the southern part of Khulna. Most of the part about 70% is in Bangladesh. It is spread from Indian border to Patuakhali district by the coast side. Here u can find Royal Bengal Tiger which is not found anywhere except Sundarban. It so so gorgeous looking like tiger. Here u can find many animals. Such as monkey, crocodile, chitra deer, python, mongoose, various kind of serpent, thousand of birds, etc.
