Khosa or Khoso (Urdu: کھوسھ ,کھوسو) They are Balouchi Tribe. By Balouchi epics khoso means Brave,” The Warrior" different books write different but they agree at one thing that khoso means The Warrior”. According to balouch, khoso was grand-son of Hoot and, Hoot was son of Rind, khoso are the one of 40 tribes of Balouch which survived since 11th century till now.According to balouch historanss tribes merged into one an other tribes but only few survive to live with there own identity .khoso tribe name is found in many poetry (11th and 12th century) of balouch epic.it is settled in Balochistan District Jafarabad, Sindh and Punjab provinces of Pakistan. Khosa tribe is settled in the Dera Ghazi Khan district in Punjab and parts of Sindh,Sukkur(sindh),Shahdadkot,Dadu. It has many clans named Balailani, Umrani(khosa), Jiani, Hamalani and others. Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa is chief of the Khosa tribe .


Some Important Khosa personalities were Late Nabi Baksh Khosa and Late Mir Ismail Khan Khosa. Both were from district Jaffarabad and were well known landlords of Balochistan.
