[edit] User Name

My User name is a rough transliteration of the Persian خرد meaning wisdom (Devanāgarī: ख़िरद), and can also be a Parsi name. I use it on the internet because:

  • It sounds like my real first name
  • I have an interest in obsession with Zoroastrianism
  • And an interest in India

[edit] Personal Info

I'm a 26 year old American now living in Tucson, Arizona; but was born and raised in Vancouver, Washington USA. I am a self described eccentric and my interests reflect this. I am also honest and upfront about my POV whilst of course aspiring towards a NPOV when editing - should be a given, but unfortunately, there are some out there pushing POV agendas.

[edit] Interests

  • Proverbs: I love "collecting" proverbs from around the world. Not only are they invaluable in comparing and contrasting different cultures, but I find the wisdom distilled in them often just as profound, sometimes more, than religious scriptures. In addition to proverbs, an arsenal of quotations always comes in handy!
  • Vexillology: Since I was a kid I have always been interested in vexillology. I never memorized the periodic table or the square root of anything, but I can identify obscure flags from memory. Just one of my many trivial talents.

[edit] My Contributions and Edits

  • Agiary: still not satisfied with it though.

I also add Devanagari and Urdu, plus other scripts to pages where appropriate.
