Kh (digraph)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kh is a digraph found in some writing systems.
In transcriptions of Indo-Aryan languages, it represents the aspirated voiceless velar plosive (/kʰ/).
For those from scores of other languages, this represents the voiceless velar fricative (/x/), a guttural sound; it may be pharyngealized (Sephardic Hebrew—the letter ḫêth ח), or laryngealized (standard Arabic, standard Persian, Urdu, ...—the letter ḵẖä’ خ).
