KFXX-AM

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

KFXX, 1080 AM, is an all-sports radio station in Portland, Oregon, USA.

The oldest station of this format, and possibly the oldest in the Pacific Northwest region, KFXX began in 1993 at AM 1520, which is now regional Mexican station KGDD. The call letters came from the days as "the Fox," an R&B oldies station. KFXX moved to AM 910 (now KKSN) in 1999 and its current dial position in 2003. Both were part of ownership changes and station signal swaps.

KFXX is the local affiliate of the Seattle Mariners baseball team. It also carries The Jim Rome Show, and Colin Cowherd and Dan Patrick from ESPN Radio.

In its early days, one of its hosts was Neil Lomax, a former quarterback at Portland State University and the St. Louis/Phoenix Cardinals.
