KFGO is a news and talk radio station owned by Clear Channel based in Fargo, North Dakota on 790 AM. The station is the production home of The Ed Schultz Show, a syndicated liberal talk show hosted by Ed Schultz, though it no longer airs the show since January 25, 2006 (though KQWB-AM 1660 in Fargo airs it). KFGO's largest rival is WDAY-AM 970.
It has been announced on September 28, 2006 that KFGO and the other Clear Channel stations in Fargo are being sold to James Ingstad, who lives in Fargo. Ingstad owned the stations and sold them in 2000, though KDAM didn't sign on until 2002.
Schultz previously hosted KFGO's statewide call-in program, News and Views, which is now hosted by Democratic-NPL state senator Joel Heitkamp. KFGO broadcasts University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux men's hockey and football games.
KFGO's listening coverage area includes the eastern half of North Dakota, northwest Minnesota, northeast South Dakota, and southern Manitoba (a Canadian province). The coverage includes the cities of Grand Forks, ND, Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Aberdeen, SD.
Clear Channel also owns KVOX-AM 1280 (Sports), KFAB-FM 92.7 (Classic country), WDAY 93.7 (Top 40/CHR), KRVI 95.1 (Adult Album Alternative), KKBX 101.9 (Classic Rock), and KDAM 104.7 (Country) in the Fargo-Moorhead area.
