This article reads like it was the recent Mac line that brought these to prominence but I seem to recall these as far as 20 years back or more. I don't have a cite for this, just shaky memory. ++Lar: t/c 22:56, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

I have removed the links to commercial sites as per WP:EL. Regarding the images, they don't qualify as fair use since the article is not about iSkin, it's about the generic "keyboard protector", so I'm going to remove them as well.
