Detective Kevin Hiatt, played by Alex O'Loughlin, will be the replacement for Detective Curtis Lemansky on the FX Networks drama The Shield in Season 6 in March 2007. Hiatt is confident without being arrogant and takes his job seriously but not personally. He has a sense of humor, finding something amusing about most everything.

[edit] Background

Detective Hiatt is brought in by Captain Claudette Wyms to keep an eye on Detective Vic Mackey and relay information about what's really going on within the Strike Team. He also is a potential replacement for Vic as leader of the Strike Team.

Hiatt is a street savvy cop who has worked for INS. He has worked for four years on the Mexican border and is experienced in gang-related crimes.

Detective Hiatt, much like Mackey, may have his own ways of dealing with criminals and those who do not cooperate.
