[edit] History
KEVN signed on the air on July 4, 1958 as KRSD, a CBS affiliate with a secondary ABC affiliation. KEVN's satellite station KIVV signed on in the early 1970s. It changed its calls to KEVN in 1976.
In 1979, KELO-TV in Sioux Falls signed on a Rapid City satellite, KCLO-TV (this was a low power repeater, now a full power station). KEVN then became a sole ABC affiliate it had shared ABC with NBC affiliate KOTA-TV up to that time. It swapped affiliations with KOTA in 1984 and became an NBC affiliate. However, in 1995 KEVN dropped NBC to join Fox. This would leave the Black Hills with no NBC affiliate until KNBN-TV came in 2000. During that period, Rapid City viewers could watch NBC programs on KNBN's low power signal.
KEVN along with KIVV are 2 of a handful of stations to still sign off each night, at 2:00am each and every night.
