[edit] Language
I've been interested in languages since I was rather young. I started teaching myself German of my own volition in the 6th grade. I took my first formal course in foreign language in the 8th grade, for the French language. An encounter with the Finnish metal band Nightwish triggered my love for the Finnish language, which started my hobby of linguistic self-education. Since Finnish, I studied about 15 languages in varying levels of detail, those in which I have become most proficient are listed on this profile.
I have recieved very little formal linguistic education, the sparse amount which I have learned was at the Governor's School program for French, which lasted for three weeks during the Summer of 2006, and was utterly immersive. There, I learned phonetics and general linguistics theory, though mainly within the scope of the French language. Due to this, I tend to shy away from contributing directly to the technical portions of language wikis, but I have amassed a great deal of knowledge, mostly triva, for all of the languages that I have studied.
I have a website which currently has incomplete grammars for the Icelandic and Swedish languages, though I have plans to complete those pages, as well as to create others. Anymore questions regarding my involvement in languages can be addressed on my talk page.
[edit] Science
Aside from language, I foster a strong passion for the Sciences, particulary biology and chemistry. At university, I wish to major in biochemistry, afterwards going on to attain a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and become a Veterinarian, or go on to be a research scientist, specializing in virology.
[edit] The Arts
I have a strong passion for the Arts, be it visual, musical, or preformance. My preferred artistic time periods are romanticism, symbolism, surrealism, and art nouveau. With regards to the preformance arts, I am a Theatrical Technician, specializing in sound. As for music, I have played the viola, the clarinet, the bass clarinet, and currently play the guitar.
