[edit] Andrew Jackson Zilker

I created an account in December 2005 so I could author an article on Andrew Jackson Zilker, which I cobbled together mostly from book-reportish bits and pieces from websites that have mostly since disappeared. As of August 2006 it's the top return on google for that search, and has been plagarized all over the web. I'm pretty darn proud; and I also immediately went to work trying to make it better; even doing nutty things like sending nagging e-mails to librarians back in Texas (Thanks Gloria!). Pretty sure this is what fatherhood must feel like.

[edit] Schroedinbug

I also saved from AfD the article on Schroedinbug via a rewrite of such clarity and insight that I'd surely be regarded as a hero to the geek speak community. Er... if I'd remembered to log in. (Just now when I typed Schroedinbug into the computer, a brown out -- never happens! -- | suddenly struck and the whole computer froze, forcing me to retype all this, which I think just proves again that ghost in the machine phenomenon, like Schroedinbugs, really exist)

[edit] The pen is mightier than the sword

Updated DYK query On 16 November 2006, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article the pen is mightier than the sword, which you created. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

[edit] Merges

Mostly I just enjoy doing merges. I usually have no expertise on what I'm merging, but if I stumble across an article with a tag, I'll usually take a shot.

[edit] Typos

I spend about a third of my time fixing typos in the wikipedia, and the other two-thirds creating them. No matter how many times I preview, I'll see a typo as soon as I save the page, and if I come back a day later there will be a fix by a wikipedian who saw all the ones I still missed. Go fgiure.
