Graduate Student at Florida State University. Member of the Institute on Napoleon and the French Revolution. (MA - 2003, PhD (ABD) - 2004)
Kenneth Johnson was born in Southern California. He received his BA in History from California State University, Northridge in 2001. He presented a paper on French Admiral Latouche Tréville at the Society of Military History Conference in Calgary, Canada, in 2001. In 2003, he earned his MA from Florida State Univeristy. Currently, he is working on his PhD at Florida State University.
His field of study is the French Navy during the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars. He is currently working on his dissertation which is a biography of Admiral Louis Thomas Villaret de Joyeuse. He held a Ben Weider Fellowship in 2001-2002 and 2002-2003. In the summer of 2003, he researched in the various archives across France. He has presented several papers on the French naval history at the 33rd, 34th and 35th meetings of the Consortium on the Revolutionary Era.
