Kent is the name of a shire in the Great Southern Region of Western Australia.

The Shire of Kent includes the towns of Nybaing and Pingrup and was first established in 1923.The name "Kent" comes from the commissariat officer of Dr T. Wilson’s expedition of 1829.

Nyabing has a population of around 120 and Pingrup has around 80 people. The estimated population of the Shire of Kent is around 650.

Nyabing is approximately 320km south east of Perth, Western Australia and Pingrup is a further 40km east of Nyabing.

Nyabing was gazzetted as a town in 1912 and Pingrup followed in 1924.

The area produces grains such as wheat, barley and legumes.
