Kenny Werner

Kenny Werner(born November 19, 1951 in Brooklyn) is a jazz pianist.

He began playing at a young age and at 11 years old he appeared on television playing stride piano with a fifteen-piece orchestra. He studied classical piano at the Manhattan School of Music while in high school and then jazz piano at the Berklee College Of Music. He had his first album in 1977. He began working with Dave Holland and Jack DeJohnette in a trio starting in 1997. He also does solo work and is an educator in jazz.

He is most known for his trio, formed in 1999, with Ari Hoenig and Johannes Weidenmueller
