Kenneth Lefever

Kenneth Ernest Lefever (born 22 February 1915) was a senior British civil servant.

He was born in Ilford and educated at Ilford County High School.

He spent his entire career at Her Majesty's Customs and Excise (now part of Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs) from 1935 until his retirement in 1975, apart from army service during World War II (1942-46; he became a captain in the Royal Engineers). He became a Principal Inspector of Customs in 1966, Deputy Chief Inspector in 1969, Collector for the Port of London in 1971, Chief Inspector in 1972 and Director of Organisation and Chief Inspector in 1974. He was a Commissioner of the Board of Customs and Excise, 1972-75. He was made a CB in 1974.

On retirement, he was appointed an Official Side Member of the Civil Service Appeal Board (1975-78) and was then Deputy Chairman, 1978-80.

A keen cricketer, he is a member of the MCC. He is also a member of the Civil Service Club.
