Ken Daniels

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ken Daniels is the play-by-play announcer for the Detroit Red Wings on FSN Detroit. He is currently in his tenth season as the voice of the Red Wings.

Ken began his career in 1988 as the voice of the Toronto Maple Leafs on CJCL Radio, where he remained for two seasons. In 1990, Ken began working for CBC as the host of Hockey Night in Canada and became a play-by-play announcer in 1994 until his current job with the Red Wings began.

He is currently teamed up with color commentator Mickey Redmond, but when the Red Wings are playing on the west coast during the regular season Larry Murphy provides color commentary.

On December 12, 2006, Daniels broadcasted the Wings-Senators game from ice-level between the benches, while color commentator Redmond remained in the booth.
