[edit] Your RfA did not pass

I regret to inform you that your RfA was closed early today by bureaucrat Raul654 as a failing RfA. Please do not take this as a condemnation of you or your contributions to Wikipedia. RfAs are only an assessment of the community's opinion about your potential as an administrator at this point in time, not for all time. I encourage you to take the lessons from your now closed RfA and use them to improve yourself as a Wikipedian. You are of course welcome to apply again for administrator rights at a later date. I recommend you wait at least a month, if not two or three months. Also, it would be best if you had at least 2,000 edits. A number of people say 1,000 is enough, but I've been keeping statistics on this and it shows that 2,000 edits is a more realistic threshold. If you have any questions on this, please feel free to ask me. --Durin 16:26, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

No worries, no offense taken. I completely understand the objections raised, and certainly now have a better understanding of the process involved. Thanks for your guidance, and I hope to collaborate more with you (and y'all) in the future. Great username, by the by. Keldan 20:01, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Arabic

Thank you for adding that on the calendar article. It was long overdue. -LambaJan 03:59, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

Please see Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style (Arabic)#poll for standard transliteration. I think you will add something valuable. Cuñado - Talk 02:00, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Religion

Hi, I was just looking at the Baha'i faith and saw that you are a follower of this religion. I have never heard of this faith before so I was just wondering if you could tell me about this religion's role in the United States. Are there any Baha'i churches in America (besides the one in IL)? Do you have any famous church members who I might recognize. Please let me know if you have anything to tell me. Thanks, (LonghornJohnny 03:37, 24 September 2006 (UTC))

[edit] Primary transliteration

You should take a look at Wikipedia:Manual of Style (Arabic). Regards, -- Jeff3000 20:52, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Images

Hi Keldan, would you have any pictures of the World Centre that you have taken yourself that you could upload at commons.wikimedia.org on a free license? Regards, -- Jeff3000 04:41, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

I have taken some, but they're not to the standard I would like. I've been planning on dedicating the next few weekends to taking some more professional quality stuff - making sure I have the full day to find the right lighting and what-not. Are there any areas in particular that you know of off the top of your head that we need (better) photos of? It would certainly make a good place to start. Keldan 14:45, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
Hi Keldan, the images that we need the most are on the Baha'i World Centre buildings page. A lot of those images come from the Baha'i Media Bank and are used under fair use, and recently fair use buildings (that still exist) have been deleted left and right. In the order of importance on that page, I think we definitely need these pictures:
  • The ITC
  • The Centre for the Study of the Texts (df)
  • House of Abdu'lla Pasha
  • The House of Abdu'l-Baha
  • Garden of Ridvan
These images are also needed, but are less important
  • Mazraih
  • The Terraces Visitor Centre (inside)
  • 4 Haparsim Street
  • Haifa Pilgrim Centre
  • 75 HaTzionut Avenue
  • Bahjí Pilgrim Centre.
Finally, we have free images of these pictures, but they are pretty low quality:
  • The Archives building (df)
  • The House of Abbud
  • Mansion of Bahji
On a last note the free picture that we have of the Shrine of Baha'u'llah is also of low quality, so a good quality photo of the entrance of the Shrine would be great.
I know this is a lot, but whatever you can do, would be an improvement. Thanks again, -- Jeff3000 15:05, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
I'm noting this list as well! I just came back from pilgrimage and have a lot of pictures, including many listed here. --dragfyre 16:11, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
No worries - having a list like this is actually helpful for planning my weekends. I'll start tackling some of these as soon as possible. Keldan 16:23, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
Hey—I've noted buildings I've uploaded photos for. That being said, please feel free to contribute your own for those too :) --dragfyre 23:57, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
