Kelda Group

Kelda Group plc (LSE: KEL) is a British utility company. It is based in Bradford, England and is listed on the London Stock Exchange. It is a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index.

Kelda Group, originally known as Yorkshire Water plc, was one of the regional water companies privatised in 1989. It changed to its current name in 1999. Yorkshire Water remains its principal UK business. It provides water to several million people in northern England, mainly in the catchment area of the River Ouse. In 2000 Kelda purchased the United States water supply business Aquarion and subsequently announced the conditional sale of this asset in February 2006. It has interests in non-regulated businesses related to its main activity, such as environmental management.

Kelda Group's turnover for the year ended 31 March 2005 was £763.0 million and profits were £212.0 million before tax and £174.2 million after tax.
